How much is labor to install snow guards.

See photo. The roof is 15 years old and it looks like the gasket/caulking has degraded over time. Does this need to be repaired and if so what are the repair options? You could try removing a bracket to see but my guess is only the exposed "squished out" parts are showing degradation.

We purchased the house last year and we have no information related to the roof installation, not even the name of the original roofing contractor. I think taking a bracket off and having a look is probably a good idea. If it appears to be fine underneath, would it be worthwhile to trim away the degraded, squished out material and seal the top/side edges with a sealant, leaving the bottom edge open? If it doesn't look good, what type of sealant should be used, after removing the old material? Thank you for your continuing help.

If you search online for "snowguard adhesive," you will also find some products that would work. Your idea for trimming and re-sealing is not bad. I don't think most people would go to that extreme but it probably would be helpful. All Best.
