I recently bought a house on pier and beam with a metal roof. On one side of the house, the water drips too close to the side and water leaks under the home creating possible issues with the foundation long term. I am wanting to add gutters on that side and run them to a water collection system. It is 20 feet, a corner and then 12 feet of roof space. My questions are 1. Can I add gutters without damaging the existing roof? 2. If so, what kind and where to buy? Thanks for any advice.

If your house has an eave fascia, you should be able to add gutters using fascia mount brackets. I would not try to fasten to the roof. If there is a drip edge on the roof, try to mount the gutters as high as possible, with the back wall of the gutters behind the drip edge. If this does not accurately fit what your situation is, please email photos of the situation to me at [email protected]
