Hello, i have a new metal roof installed and have a question.
My roof is a corrugated galvalume screw down panel with a 4/12 pitch. I noticed under the ridge caps i see no closure material installed. The only thing visible is what appears to be flashing stick tape. My concern is obvious wind driven rain getting into the ridge vents or under the panels. I will try to attach a picture to show. It is hard to get the camera to focus in such a small space. Should there be closure material installed, is there any reason it wouldn't be installed, or is it something underneath the tape i cannot see?
I am going to ask my roofer on 4/25/2022 as they will be back onsite to finish a sunroom addition roof area.
Any insight would be helpful!

I was wondering if I could stuff screen or mesh into the gap between the sheets of metal roofing to take care of my problem.

What confuses me though is the piece to the lower right side of the ridge in the first image that appears to be standing on edge.

Now, as to whether the joint was handled well, I really can't say based on what I can see but it doesn't look real bad by any means.

Or copy this URL: https://www.metalroofing.com/spirit/comment/25891/find/My apologies it took so long to get back on this. When i asked roofer about the closure, they did install it at the ridge vents, but the rest of the ridge does not have it.
We have had hardly any rain so i cannot say if there are any issues yet. When we get a big heavy rain and maybe wind i will know for sure.
One amazing thing though is the temperature changes in the attic/roof. We had a black shingle roof and being in Florida, with no trees over the roof it was an oven before! Our energy bill is way lower, and the AC hardly has to run much or as often as it did before. Also, we have plumbing pipes in the attic, now when you use cold water tap, its cool and not warm/hot like it used to be.
I wish i had done this way before now, i am a firm believer in metal roofing now. While i am not super excited over the silver color, its clear now the energy savings and reflectivity of the heat will win the day for us here in Florida. I realize maybe that's not the best solution for up north though.
