We had an enclosed patio added onto our house over ten years ago, and there have been constant issues with it leaking where the flashing is at the joint of the roof of the house and the flat roof of the patio. We since got a metal roof, and then had the enclosed patio roof coated and were told our leaky problems were a thing of the past. Not true. A friend has temporarily fixed it by spraying a rubberized, I think, coating at the joint, but upon an inspection yesterday, I saw where it is cracking and not adhering. What can I do at this joint that will prevent leaks? I've (hopefully) uploaded photos to show what it looks like.

Or copy this URL: https://www.metalroofing.com/spirit/comment/24963/find/I would probably suggest shortening the metal roof panels by 6 - 8" and working in a flashing that leads from underneath the metal out on top of the flat roof. These are always tough areas and oftentimes problems are the result of just trying to "butt" the two systems rather than flash them.

I can see from the bottom picture what you're talking about - just a better (deeper) piece of flashing. I'm not a roofer, of course. Is there any way to try to pry the existing panels up to slide in a new flashing?

Or copy this URL: https://www.metalroofing.com/spirit/comment/24966/find/I have a problem too, and I want to bend the roof a little, so it becomes not so flat. Not sure how I can do that, but it seems to be the only reasonable decision.
Shortening the panels is not possible in my case because the rain would fall on the benches underneath. Now I see that installing a flat roof was not a good idea. The water doesn’t drip down properly and dries right on the roof. It’s not good for the roof because there is too much dampness.
Next week I am calling https://carportaustralia.com.au/patio-roof/ to ask for professional advice in this case. I hope they will come up with a better solution than I have now.
