Can i install new drip edge over existing without taking the old drip out? regarding my earlier post i am trying to replace rusted drip without taking the roof apart.

Or copy this URL: https://www.metalroofing.com/spirit/comment/26002/find/The new drip may have to be custom configured to do this. If you do this, I'd also separate the two parts. Rust is contagious. However, I think that ideally I wouldn't do this in your case.

I will have a section of hip roof that measures 20 feet at the base and replace the 2 drip sections.
what do i do with the existing holes? do i paper the entire section and if so how do i seal the ends?

That said, if you can come up with more creative ways that make sense, I think that would be good as well. Yes, new underlayment should be installed. I am not sure what you're referring to as the "ends". I am sorry.
