Hi Todd,
Would like to do my house and garage myself. Want to use standing seam or better if available. Only have a total of about 50 sq.
Would like to pay an engineer a reasonable fee for the freshest thinking on duribility/availability of a comeplete roof system.
Thanks, Rodger
PS: I liked your forum answers real well.
Would have used your sites "find a contractor." But far too often that kind of site has only led me to a flurry of sales folks and subs who usually don't have the level of skill i want to pay for. However, if you know of a contractor in the Tampa area that can approach Mil-Spec level of instalation wouldn't mind payng for that either. Thanks for your time Mr. Miller. Rodger.

Rodger,
Sounds to me like you're doing some good things. So good, in fact, that I am not sure how much I can help you.
First of all, though, have you researched all of the different types of metal roofing available to you? I would strongly suggest finding a product or products that you like and then working with the manufacturer of that product or those products to find out who is experienced at installing their products in your area.
As far as an engineer, should you choose to start that way, you will generally find that they will be knowledgable of perhaps one or two metal roofing types and that will likely be it. I do not know of any metal roofing savvy engineers in your area. I am sorry. Have you tried just a Google search or something?
Like I said, I am really sorry but I am not sur ehow much help I can be to you at this stage in the game.
