Hi,
I have a question regarding oil caning the panels that are being installed on house have more like a rippling effect instead of oil caning and it’s only on the male side. Roof has 12/12 on sides and 10/12 front and back. I understand that oil canning is Common. But this panels have a rippling affect. Wondering if it can be a manufacture defect.

Or copy this URL: https://www.metalroofing.com/spirit/comment/25537/find/The panels were run on 2 separate roll formers and made sure the coils entering were lined up. Can this be caused by the trusses or decking not being leveled. On some areas it shows crowing on the trusses and uneven decking.

If it was a metal shape issue, you'd have seen it in the coil -- lack of flatness along the one edge of the strip. I do see the unevenness in the roof deck in that last photo. Roof deck lack of flatness is the most common cause of oilcanning.
