The MRA “Best Metal Roofing Project” contest will be held each quarter during 2023.

Overview
To participate in this contest, entrants are asked to submit a residential metal roofing project they have completed within the past five years, including a photo and a short description about the residential project (200 words or less). The residential metal roofing project can be either new construction or a re-reroofing project. Entries will be judged based upon the criteria in the “JUDGING” section of these Official Rules.
There will be one first prize winner per quarter (based on a calendar year). Entries received during the quarter will be judged and the entrant receiving the highest scores will be the contest prize winner for that quarter.
Eligibility
The Best Metal Roofing Project (“Contest”) is open to homeowners, roofing installers and contractors, or other related tradespersons or their customers. To qualify, participants must meet the following criteria: are (a) legal residents of one of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia who are at least the age of majority in their state of residence (which is nineteen (19) in Alabama, Nebraska, twenty-one (21) in Mississippi, and eighteen (18) in all other states) OR (b) legal residents of Canada (excluding residents of the province of Quebec) who are at least the age of majority in their province or territory of residence at the time of entry (collectively referred to herein as “Entrant(s)”).
The contest is subject to all federal, state, and local laws and regulations and in the case of Canadian Entrants shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the applicable laws of Canada (excluding the province of Quebec), without regard to conflict of law provisions. Contest is void in Puerto Rico, Quebec, US territories and possessions located outside of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia or Canada, and wherever else restricted or prohibited by law. By entering this contest, entrant indicates their full and unconditional agreement to, and acceptance of, these Official Rules and the decision of the Sponsor, which are final and binding in all respects. Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein.
NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE OF ANY KIND DOES NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCE OF WINNING.
How to Enter
During the period from January 1, 2023 at 12:01 AM PST through December 31, 2023 at 11:59 PM PST (the “Contest Period”), visit MRA’s website at www.metalroofing.com, and fill out the submission form. Entrants must complete the submission form in its entirety, including first name, last name, email address, country of residence, and project title (the “Entry”). Upon completing the submission form, contestant will click the “Submit” button and receive one (1) entry into the Contest for the current quarter.
Limit one entry per quarter. All entries must be received during the Contest Period to be eligible and are subject to verification at the sole discretion of the judges and MRA. Sponsor’s clock is the official time clock for the contest.
Participants must have secured permission to submit and participate in the contest with any necessary parties (including their employer, customer or other) and must have actively played a direct role in the project in some manner (either as an employee or representative of the roofing company or business, a contractor, installer, crew member or customer). Sponsor will not be held responsible for any breach of privacy or nondisclosure agreements that may limit participation.
Judging
On or about the judging dates outlined in the “WINNERS” section of these Official Rules, all eligible entries received during the quarter will be judged by Sponsor representatives based on the following criteria:
Appearance (50%): beauty that enhances the overall architectural style of the home
Performance (25%): projects that help the homeowner overcome a challenge (such as weather related durability attributes, etc.)
Originality/use of material (25%): innovation, uniqueness, and creativity metal roofing material
For each quarter, the entry that receives the highest score will be deemed the first prize winner. In the event of a tie, the Sponsor will re-judge any tied entries to determine the final prize winner.
The judging of entries will be conducted under supervision of the Sponsor, whose decisions are based upon their sole interpretation of these Official Rules and are final and binding in all respects. Sponsor reserves the right not to award all prizes if, in its sole discretion, it receives an insufficient number of eligible and qualified entries. Prize awards are subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with the terms of these Official Rules.
Winners
Winner(s) will be selected from all eligible entries received. Prize announcements will be made by the judging date on or about the end of each quarter by MRA representatives, whose decisions are final and binding regarding all aspects of the Contest. Winners will be notified by mail, email, or phone at the sole discretion of the Sponsor. Return of any prize notification as undeliverable may result in disqualification or forfeiture of the prize and selection of an alternate winner.
The awarding of the prize is subject to verification by the Sponsor whose decisions are based upon their sole discretion and interpretation of these Official Rules and are final and binding in all respects. A POTENTIAL PRIZE WINNER IS NOT A WINNER OF ANY PRIZE, EVEN IF THE PROMOTION SHOULD SO INDICATE, UNLESS AND UNTIL THEIR ELIGIBILITY AND THE POTENTIAL WINNING ENTRY HAVE BEEN VERIFIED BY THE SPONSOR.
Prizes/Retail Value
The winner will receive a $300 gift card upon verification by the Sponsor, within 30 days from when the contest period closes. The gift card will be valued at $300 USD. A total of one (1) prize will be awarded for each quarter. Prize winners are solely responsible for any and all applicable federal, state, and local taxes if applicable. The winner and their project entry will also receive MRA promotion on MRA’s website and across MRA’s digital channels, which attract hundreds of thousands of homeowners interested in metal roofing each year.
Prize winners agree that all prizes are being provided “as is.” No transfer, substitution or cash redemption of prizes is permitted, except at Sponsor’s sole discretion or as otherwise provided herein. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if prize becomes unavailable due to reasons beyond the control of the Sponsor.
No more than the number of prizes set forth in these Official Rules will be awarded.
Odds of Winning
The odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received.
Conditions of Participation
Online entrants must have a valid e-mail address and it is the entrant’s responsibility to update Sponsor of any change in e-mail address. Entrants agree to be bound by the terms of these Official Rules and by the decisions of Sponsor, which are final and binding on all matters pertaining to this contest.
Winners may be required to sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility, a Liability Release and, where legally permissible, a Publicity Release within 7 days following the date of first attempted notification. Failure to comply with this deadline may result in forfeiture of the prize and selection of an alternate winner.
Except where prohibited and subject to confidential application information, by entering the contest you irrevocably agree that Sponsor and their partners may use your name, submission and any verbal or written statements regarding your participation in the contest (collectively, "Your Likeness") throughout the world, in perpetuity, in any media, without limitation or compensation to you. You waive privacy/publicity rights and other legal or moral rights that might preclude the use of Your Likeness, and you agree not to sue or assert any claim against Sponsor and their partners relating to their use of Your Likeness.
By participating in the Contest, entrants agree to hold Sponsor, its advertising and promotion agencies and their respective parent companies,subsidiaries, affiliates, partners, representative agents, successors, assigns, officers, directors, and employees harmless for any injury or damage caused or claimed to be caused by participation in the contest and/or acceptance or use of any prize.
Sponsor is not responsible for any printing, typographical, mechanical, or other error in the printing of the offer, administration of the contest or in the announcement of the prize. Sponsor may be collecting personal information in accordance with its privacy policy in connection with a contest.
MRA is committed to compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, policies, and ethics rules. This notice is intended to ensure that participation in this contest will not violate any such laws, regulations, policies, or rules. MRA seeks no promises or favoritism for itself or any of its affiliates in exchange for the opportunity to participate in the contest. By entering the contest, (i) you agree that your participation in the contest – including your acceptance of any potential prize – will not violate any law, regulation, policy, or rule of your country, state, or government agency; and (ii) you certify that any potential prize is not in exchange for an agreement to influence a recent, pending, or anticipated act or decision that may result in MRA obtaining or retaining business or a business advantage.
Internet
Sponsor is not responsible for electronic transmission errors resulting in omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operations or transmission, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to or alterations of entry materials, or for technical, network, telephone equipment, electronic, computer, hardware or software malfunctions or limitations of any kind, or inaccurate transmissions of or failure to receive entry information by Sponsor or presenter on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any Web site or any combination thereof.
If for any reason the Internet portion of the program is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this contest, Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the contest.
Sponsor reserves the right to select winners from eligible entries received as of the termination date. Sponsor further reserves the right to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process. Sponsor may prohibit an entrant from participating in the contest if it determines that said entrant is attempting to undermine the legitimate operation of the contest by cheating, hacking, deception, or other unfair playing practices or intending to abuse, threaten, or harass other entrants. Caution: Any attempt by a participant to deliberately damage any Web site or undermine the legitimate operation of the contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made; Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages from any such participant to the fullest extent of the law.
Disputes and Governing Law
By participating, entrants forever and irrevocably release, indemnify, and hold harmless, Sponsor and its officers, directors, employees, agents and all others associated with the development and execution of the contest from and against any injury, loss or damage caused or claimed to be caused by entrant's participation in the contest and/or the acceptance, awarding, receipt, use and/or misuse of the prize, including without limitation personal injury, death, and/or property damage. Entrants agree that Sponsor is not responsible for any warranty, representation, or guarantee, expressed or implied, in fact or in law, relating to the contest and/or the awarding of any prize. In the event that the preceding release and indemnity clause is determined by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid or void for any reason, entrant agrees that, by entering the contest, (i) any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action in connection with the contest, or any prizes awarded, will be resolved individually without resort to any form of class action; (ii) any claims, judgments and awards will be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering the contest, but in no event attorney's fees; and (iii) and entrant hereby waives all rights to claim, punitive, incidental or consequential damages and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased and any other damages, other than damages for actual out-of-pocket expenses. Entrants agree that all issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of Sponsor or entrants in connection with the contest, will be governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules. Entrants consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the State and Federal courts in the State of Washington. For Canadian Entrants, this Promotion is governed by and shall be construed in accordance with the applicable laws of Canada (excluding the province of Quebec), without regard to conflict law provisions or principles. By participating, Canadian Entrants consent to the jurisdiction of the courts of Toronto, Ontario, as well as legal proceedings in those courts.
