I am a structural engineer working on a "pole-barn" type building with the idea being that the metal roofing is attached directly to the wood framing to act as a structural diaphragm without the addition of sheathing underneath the metal roofing. The structure is going to be used as a slat shed with one side completely open so ventilation shouldn't be a problem.
My question is where would I find allowable diaphragm values for such an application. I am aware of this assembly being used frequently in barn and misc other storage facilities. I have contacted one manufacturer and was informed that these values were not availabe for any of their products.
Any help would be appreciated.

To the best of my knowledge there are no values for the agricultural type roofing however some commercial profiles have values however from my exoperience they may be price restrictive as you are getting into 22 of 20 ga material and it may only come with premium paint systems. Typically it has been best to brace the roof structure with wood.
