I had a Gerrard Granite Ridge roof installed on my home 9 months ago. The inspector failed the inspection due to lack of proper venting.
In Wisconsin, the code calls for a roof to be vented, and there are no exceptions for metal roofs.
The installer said that my roof is installed like all his other installations and has never had an inspector fail it due to lack of venting.
I am caught between a rock and a hard place. What have other installers of Gerrard Granite Ridge been doing about the mandatory venting issue? Who is wrong her, the installer or the inspector?

I would think the inspector is correct. Most homes here is CA have existing dormer vents, we replace them and add more if needed. Did you have any existing dormers ? were new ones installed ?
From your post it sounds like the installer did what he always does, the question is did he install vents at all, did he vent the ridge?
I see that this product is similar to Metro Shingle and Alcoa, they lay from the bottom up and each course locks into the one below. Unlike Some the ther other stone coated steel products, you cant pull a shingle out of the middle, you have to remove the shingles fromt he top down. Maybe your installer didnt install the dormers and is not in the mood to take the ridge trim off and remove the shingles down to be able to install the possibly missing dormers ? Either way, i am not sure we have all the info we need to make a call here. I would start with asking you installer if he installed any, and how many.
