Hello,
I just had a metal roof installed over existing shingles. I've never had any soffitt vents and there is no ability to add any. I have always had/still have moisture/condesation problems in one section of our attic (there are three independent attic spaces). There is now a ridge vent in that particular attic, but not enough air intake to create proper air flow. Are gable vents my only other option for intake (even though they won't allow air to flow properly down by the eaves)?

Was the metal roof put directly to the deck or on purlins/battens?
Why not try to control the humidity leaving the living space below?
What is below this attic section that is supplying the humidity to the attic?
