Because of heavy snow and ice dam formation, I would like to put a metal roof on the lower 6-8 feet of my asphalt shingle roof. Since the metal roof material has ridges at the seams, has a method been developed to make the transition?
Thanks,

Sure, a pitch transition flashing is necessary. The key is mounting it high enough on the shingle roof that you maintain a positive slope on the transition flashing.
