I have two adjoining buildings separated by three feet. The city won't let me build a common roof because one of the buildings is non-conforming. I'm planning to put standing seam steel roof on both, and want to fill the gap with skylight panels of some kind of durable light-transmitting material, after final inspection. It would be ideal to have a panel that somewhat matched the look of the steel panels, and it would be nice if it mated up cleanly and didn't leak. Any suggestions?

Some metal manufacturers supply translucent panels to match their profiles. Also get a "get out of jail free card" as you are contravening the law which is there for a purpose.
