Hi there. Not sure what to do. Am getting my 150 year old home resided in 'Prairie Wheat' vinyl (soft historic butter colour) but the roof is brown shingles. We have two bays on the front of the house that the contractor and myself want to roof in steel. The question is---what colour?? I'm scared brown will date it. (1970s)!! Just not sure if the bays and existing roof should be similar. All the trim and capping is going to be white. Contractor thought maybe white, I thought maybe silver??????? Hope you can help, Katherine P.S. Roof was reshingled 5 years ago--not doing that for a while.

I think that a product painted in a silver color could look very nice. My other suggestion would be perhaps a patina green color that would look like aged copper.
