We want to install sylights in new construction standing seam metal roof and want to know if we should order the skylights with self-flashing or not?

You need a curbed skylight and I would buy the flashing kit. Your experienced installation contractor can then determine whether to use all of the kit's parts or make some custom flashings, based upon the profile of the metal roof panel and where the skylight is on relation to the roof and those panels.

I agree. I just went throught the same situation and with a through understanding of water drainage, flashing and metal roofing an experience contractor should have no problems. Do it right or it WILL leak.
