I am seeing roof scratches in standing seam metal roofs after Hurricane Ike, it appears most are done during installation, however some are from flying debris, several have rusted. Is there an acceptable method of repairs to scratches either rusted and non-rusted? How would I find a local contractor? What are the results of repaired scratches vs diminish in life expectancy and warranty?

I always suggest hitting all scratches with touch up. If they are clearly through to bare metal or if the metal has rusted then I suggest a primer first and then the top coat -- cleaning the rust as well of course.
With proper touch up I don't think you're affecting life much if any at all.
