We are in need of a new roof and are considering metal roofing. I am a bit confused about the differences between the standing seam and the classic rib roof. I believe the standing seam has hidden fasteners while the classic rib has exposed fasteners and the classic rib is put down in larger sheets, but is that the only difference?

The lack of an exposed fastener usually means that standing seam will be leak proof for longer.
In terms of quality, the Standing Seam is usually more expensive and requires a more skilled installer.
As long as you are getting a skilled installation, my nod would go to the standing seam.
