Does metal roofing affect radio & TV reception in the house. I use rabbit-ear TV antenna to receive TV programs. My FM radio also has an antenna. I sometimes use ham radio/amateur radio as well. I can give you our experience. We have a standing seam roof and we live about 40 miles from the local TV stations. Most people I talked to said not to even try to put our antenna in the attic of our garage, but I ignored that and thought that I would at least give it a shot ... what did I have to lose except a few hours of time. Turns out that we get very good reception on half of our channels and fair reception on the other half. We don't watch a lot of TV and we aren't terribly picky, so we have decided for now, at least, to live with the snow on half of the channels.
