Satellite Dish Mount?

Anyone know of a way / device that will allow a Dirctv dish to be mounted to a standing seam metal roof? I certainly don't want to attach to the flat portion via screws and am looking for a "good" way to do it. Thanks! dingo

You could work with a local fabricator or with the manufacturer of the roofing to have some clamps made which would clamp onto the roofing seams, perhaps with a support bar running between the seams.

Yes, That's my last resort. Someone told me they thought they'd heard of a mount that was already available - I'm trying to find out if that's true or not. Thanks!

The following page: http://www.alpinesnowguards.com/Pages/snowguardschart.htm will take you to the products page of a company that makes snowguards which clamp onto standing seam roofing seams. I am guessing that, with minimal alterations, these could perhaps be used for your purpose. Actually, perhaps you could run a pipe-style snow fence between the seams and then attach to that. Wow! and Thanks! A next best solution if I ever saw one. I got a big chuckle out that site as I live in Southern most South Carolina and I have no idea what a "snow guard" is. By looking at the pictures on that site it appears that it prevents the snow from falling off??

I'm sure there aren't many snowguards where you live. Snowguards help hold the snow and also help to break it up so it doesn't slide all at once and damage plantings, block sidewalks, etc.

Thanks for the link. I tried the clamps earlier this year with a plate on top to which the dish was mounted. Got it all finished and then did a "windage test" with my little finger. The dish wobbled too much. Sooo, I had to have the dish mounted on the side of a chimney. Probably better than messing with my new metal roof!

The way to do that would have been with an S-5 Mini. Span two seams, total of 4 clamps. Use some angle or plate between the clamps and screw the dish base down to the angle. Did it on my place and works like a charm.
