I am building a house on the intracoastal in FL, and can't decide whether an aluminum or galvanized aluminum roof would be better. Any thoughts on this?

There is no such thing as galvanized aluminum.
Common metal types are:
galvanized steel (steel with a coating of zinc/aluminum)
galvalume steel (steel with a coating of aluminum/zinc)
aluminum
copper
Galvanized and galvalume use the anti-corrosive coatings to help avoid rust. Ultimately, the products are still steel though.
Aluminum does not have a risk of rust.
I would suggest always looking at the warranties on any products you consider.
