Do leaves/pine needles get caught on the roof panels between the sections? We have a very forested property and are concerned about this. I know snow does not get caught but have not read anything about leaves, etc. thanks!

There are a variety of metal systems and numerous within the vertical rib profiles. Generally speaking they all have tight sidelaps provided they are installed correctly. A standing seam panel has a more detailed side lap. One needs to look at the slope of the roof as a lower slope will tend to hold the needles and create dams This is where a standing seam would be better. Choose a product and contact the manufacturer and get their recomendations.
