Where can I get the foam closures?
were they supposed to be installed when the roof was installed?
I have ice dam and it is freezing into the grooves of the metal, and causing leaks,
I also have a new gutter there with a gutter guard, installed this past fall, all freezing with the ice dam... it didn't leak last year, just tore the gutters down.
what is the best solution?
If I fill the grooves with spray foam will that work? Should the gutters be removed?

Ice dams have nothing to do with the roof itself but as a result of heat loss from the living space that gets up to the roof deck and melts the snow in below freezing conditions.

Fix the loss of heat and you will eliminate the ice dam.
