Hi all. I've got an old house that needs some rebuilt box gutters and I'm putting a new metal roof on as well.
My roofer wants to line the new box with rubber and run it up under the metal some prescribed distance.
That makes sense to me, but is it kosher and sound?
Thoughts?
TIA

Certainly. You may want to work with the roofing manufacturer to determine how to do this and have minimum fasteners through the rubber while also avoiding contact with sharp edges of metal pieces.

Is rubber a sound way to line a box gutter?
I've heard that they should be metal lined, but my logic suggests that rubber will last plenty long and if and when it fails it'll be easier to repair, even by a non-pro (with large fuzzy kiwis in re: heights).
