Could you tell me if a 29 gage metal is okay for a church
building?
Originally we had ordered 26 gage but were sent 29 gage and were told it has same warranty.

I apologize for the delay in my response. I just now saw your question. Sorry about that.
Really, I can't answer this question. I mean, it depends upon what you want. Obviously, there is something to be said in terms of extra durability with the heavier metal. The paint finish and warranty may be the same. However, fact is, you're not getting the product you thought you were getting.
That said, though, based upon product design, it is certainly fathomable that a 29 gauge product could be stronger than a 26 gauge product. Anytime you do more forming to the metal, it gets stronger.
There should, though, be a price difference between 26 and 29 gauge.
I also cannot stress enough that, regardless of the product, proper installation is necessary. In light of the boo-boo which has already been made, I really suggest that you get a copy of the installation instructions from the product manufacturer and keep a close eye on the job to ensure that installation proceeds accordingly.
