We are building a new home in Tampa, FL. We are in a 120 mph wind zone, and although the days are few, the temperature swing in winter can be 50 degrees (low 30's in the morning and 80's in the afternoon, same day). The standing seam roof will be installed over new wood sheathing. We are concerned about "oil canning" and wind performance. One contractor has quoted us 24 gauge metal. Is that sufficient or overkill?
