We just had a galvalume roof installed on our new construction. At the site today and noticed that although the blue polyfilm packing strip was removed before installing, the polyfilm left a residue that looks like at stripe on each panel. Also dirt and leaves stick to the residue. Every panel has this strip from the residue. Having a meeting with the GC to discuss this problem. Not sure if this can be cleaned off. Any suggestions are information you can pass along to me would be helpful.

You may be able to "wash" the residue off with mineral spirits. I have used it in the past with good results. I would not use anything stronger though.
