Metal Shingles are harder to seal, however with a 10/12 roof there should be no problem. However, Metal Shingles are more expensive than standing seam.

I should mention one other thing, that is standing seam are not as hard to apply labor on any shingle product is considerably greater. Many people like myself will be willing to roll the material, pre cut it so you can bring it home and do it yourself. Too bad you're not near Woodland, Washington, I'd be glad to. Doing it that way saves a lot of money.
