Hi,
We've just bought a new home with a pitched corrugated metal roof. I believe the roof was replaced about five years ago but I don't know any details about the manufacturer or installer. I think the roof has some kind of plastic coating.
The building has a chimney and we are considering installing a wood-burning stove. However, we are concerned that hot ash or embers from the chimney may land on the roof and damage the coating.
Do you believe this is a possibility?
Thanks.

Hot embers could indeed damage the finish ... whether there is a chance that hot embers from your chimney pipe could reach the roof or not .... I don't know.
