I installed my metal roof about 12 yrs ago. In that time I have a real problem with fasteners that back themselves out causing a leak. I finally went to a fastener with a one piece screw and washer and a rubber washer under neathbetween the screw and the metal. the screws are i1/2 in screwed into 1x4 poplar runners. This backed out and I put them back in with gorrilla glue. If I ever have a leak it is always a screw that has backed its self out. Any ideas??????? Doc

This is really outside of my area of expertise. Generally, I have seen people suggest larger fasteners and fasteners with better holding power. However, it sound slike you have already tried that.
Certainly, movement in the structure or drying of the lumber could cause htis but to still be doing it 12 years later?
I would suggest tracking down the manufacturer of the roofing and seeing if they can't come in for an inspection and evaluation.
