On a current project I have a 103 year old building and a new addition to that building. Included in the project will be a new standing seam roof for the existing and new. I am planning for a 4" expansion joint between the buildings, but am having trouble finding a good detail for the expansion joint at the roof. I don't want to use a bellows type. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Jace

Jace, many of the member companies here will have "standard" expansion joint details. The variable will be the type of metal panel being utilized on the new structure and what the expansion joint is attaching to on the existing structure. Please contact some of the member companies but prepared to supply drawings and/or photos of the existing structure and what panel type you are interested in using for the new structure.
