I'm in the middle of reroofing my house with a snap lock metal roof system. I'm having problems flashing/roofing around my chimney. I have a chimney cricket, but I'm unsure how to roof around the chimney. Any ideas or web sites that could give me illustrations? Thanks.

Most manufacturers have published installation instructions on how to complete this detail and I would suggest going to your brand supplier first. The National Roofing Contractors Association has published generic details on metal roofing which is quite detailed although I do not know if it is available by web site.

I would like some clear directions on flasing and installing my (Meridian standing seam) metal roof around the chimney. I have been able to get little or no info from the manufacturer. I also want to know how to properly flash / seal between the roof and the shed roof over the porch.

I'm planning on installing a metal roof on a ranch-style house with a shallow roof. Any advice on how to deal with a chimney that doesn't straddle the ridge? I'm confused about the order in which the flashing and metal go on. Are there any books or diagrams that provide examples?

Is it difficult to install a gas top vent fireplace in a metal roof? Are there any complications in doing this or is it a standard operation? I assume the flue for the fireplace will be metal as well.

This is pretty standard. However, obtain instructions form the metal roofing manufacturer. If you're working with a manufacturer that cannot provide such instructions, that is a good indication that you should seek a different manufacturer, frankly.

If it is an existing roof, try to identify the manufacture and contact them to get isnstructions. If it is a vertical rib roof, you must isdentify whether it is through fastened or concealed fastened. Further the location of the vent is a factor as you may be dealing with sliding snow if located low in the roof.
There are many after market formable siliconized rubber flashings made for this type of application, typically made available through the screw suppliers. make sure that you do locate the pipe so that the water is dammed up. As well some concealed metal roof systems have slotted holes to allow the sheets to expand and contract and are fastened firm at the top of the roof. Make sure you do not fasten theses the flashings into the deck on these types of roof to allow movement.
