I am tearig down a pole barn with a metal roof and want to reuse the metal roofing. However it has many screw holes from the previous installations. Can I make it work? Will I need to plug the old holes? Is there a quick method to do this? I will re-use as many holes as possible, but many will not line up with the 2x4 slats under neith. Will this work?

I obviously won't be as good as new, but the best thing would probably be to seal it using a butyl sealant.
This method will work, but if it has a lot of holes in it it will take some time.
Also if you are screwing into the old holes, try to use a large threaded screw if possible.
