As you will see on this website there are many styles of metal roofs. A lot of it is a personal design choice. I would suspect you could get a good metal roof for a cost similar to wood shakes. hi Todd Am preparing to install a new roof with standard architectural shingles with 50 year warranty . Surface estimated at 45 squares. Base price is 11,200 plus any wood material needing replace...probably end up at about 12,000. In general terms , what would a standard metal roof cost ? Same amount , 20% more, 40% more, ??? , ???
