Read a number of posting on aluminum vs. steel but my question related to the long-term wear of stone-coated steel vs. aluminum roofing. I have quotes on both (about $3000 more for the aluminum) but am concerned about the long-term wear of both. The aluminum contractor tells me that the stone-coated roofing tends to show wear much quicker as the coating flakes/chips off but we like the look of the stone-coated (more 'natural'). Any advice?
