I have a slope of 1 1/2:12. Can I use a metal roof for this area?

You'd need to check with individual manufacturers but many vertical seal metal roofs are fine for that pitch. That would include mechanically seamed standing seam (for certain), some snap lock standing seams, and some exposed fastener panels.
