I received a proposal from a roofer to install a galvalume roof on my home. When some problems occurred the distributor got involved. The distributors website does not use the word Galvalume in Describing it’s roofing panels. But the company insists that the panels are the same as Galvalume because they are coated with AZ 50.
I am trying to figure out whether I got what I contracted for. Does it have to be called Galvalume to be Galvalume?

Thanks for choosing a metal roof. Your question is sort of akin to saying ... does it have to be Kleenex in order to be Kleenex, if that makes sense. AZ50 is the normal grade for pre-painted aluminum-coated steel. I hope this helps.
