I am trying to find out general pricing comparisons and whether one of these 2 options is better. My house is single story with a relatively low pitch roof currently with asphalt shingles. So it seems to me that metal shingles would be closest to what I have now. Do they come in panels, and if not, is installation more expensive?

Many of them are fully interlocking panels with hidden fasteners. Typically, the minimum required roof pitch is 3:12 for these products. A quality metal roof will be higher cost than standard shingles. In my experience, many metal roof customers intend to remain in their homes for at least 10 years.
