Hi. Thank you for creating this site. I am in the Florida panhandle where Hurricane Michael ravished our city. My current roof is 10 years told and insurance gave me money to replace the roof (laminated shingles). I am considering standing seam although everyone is trying to talk me out of it. I have been offered by two different contractors- Drexel 175s and Englert 1300. From my research, it appears one is mechanically seamed and one is not, one is broad width and one is narrow. I think the paint systems may be different as well. I don't know if this makes a difference but my slope or pitch I don't even know which is which but it's 7/12. Any thoughts on the manufacturers?

Both are good, long term manufacturers. Both produce products in a wide range of styles and qualities. Drexel is a member of the Metal Roofing Alliance. Englert is not. If you wish, drop me an email at [email protected] and I have some consumer education pieces I can send you to help you know what to ask and what to look for.
