Hi there. After getting many different opinions, I am reaching out to you all for 2/12 roofing options for my house. Some are saying an ice and water shield and shingles will be fine. Others say standing seam is the only option. The roof has two valleys, no attic space (4 inches), a skylight and a handful of vents. It’s 90-100 degrees in the summer, snows occasionally in the winter. Looking for an option to help keep the house cool as well -we have no insulation in the vaulted living room/kitchen space. Thanks in advance!
2/12 residential roof options

Thank you. I do not know of any asphalt shingles approved by their manufacturer for 2:12 pitch. In metal, there are many vertical seam panel options suitable for lower roof pitches like yours. I'd suggest looking for a metal product with a heat-reflective coating. Also, some metal roofs can be installed with a thermal break for further energy efficiency.
