Looking to install a kynar coated aluminum shingle for a client. Theres a 1 square area thats copper standing seam that would have runoff from the aluminum kynar coated roof directly on it. There's laminate shingles on rest of roof now.. Would water running off new kynar coated aluminum roof create a galvanic reaction with the copper standing seam roof below?

Hi James. I hope all's well. I usually get the reverse question actually. Really, Kynar has such a slow erosion rate that, no, I would not expect any issues from this at all.

To take it a step further, if this was reversed, the copper would have a higher likelihood of corroding the aluminium, but with aluminium being the less cathodic of the two metals, it's run-off would not be corrosive to the copper.
