I live in Naples, Florida about 15 miles from the gulf of mexico and the underside of my roof deck panels has Icynene foam insulation sprayed onto it, making it an unvented space. We currently have a tile roof but are strongly considering installing a metal roof. Is there a limitation to installing metal roofing onto a roof deck that has spray foam on the bottom side of the panels? Also, can you provide a recommendation for a secondary water barrier for this situation?
A recent visit by a roofing company said we could not install metal roofing because of our conditioned attic.

Metal roofs are installed over insulated decks on a regular basis. Do you know whether the foam is closed or open cell? I can address your other question based on the answer to that. Thank you.
