I built an old single pitch shed and I am going to install 2x4 slats directly on the rafters vertically. What spacing is best? Some say 12” but I don’t see why 24” spacing will work as well. It’s nothing fancy. Just wanna know what spacing I should use

Start with what you are going to be putting on the roof and work backwards from that. Keep in mind, walking on a roof that is 12" spaced is also much easier than 24" spacing and 2x4s are pretty cheap.
