If the fat side is placed over the skinny side, the opposite of how it’s suppose to go, what potential problems could this cause? If any.

Furthermore, I really will ultimately refer you to the manufacturer of the panel to pose this question. For example, I do not know what stance they will take as far as whether it voids their warranty.
