We just went through Hurricane Micheal. While we dod not sustain significant damage, we need a nee roof. Can a metal roof be installed over our existing roof?

Products that are more heavily textured such as metal shingles and corrugated products lend themselves the best to this practice. However, I am not sure that Florida building code will allow you to go over old shingles. I believe that in your area, removal of the old shingles is required.

Just make that a careful inspection is completed for the roof deck so that you are not just covering up some sort of older defect.
