Thoughts On Stitch Screws?

I started installing a a classic rib style metal roof on my barn this week. It is being installed over battens over existing shingles. The manufacturer supplied 7/8" stitch screws and 1 1/2" wood screws. I've seen many manufacturer's videos showing stitch screws being used (or not used) in different areas of the installation. Most seem to use them to install the ridge cap into the ribs of the panel. Some seem to use them to install the gable end trim, while others use the wood screws for the gable end trim. The last use case I've seen is stitch screws used along the rib where two panels are lapped, but this is the most infrequent.

The specific manufacturer of the metal that I purchased for this project doesn't appear to have installation documentation available on their website. Would those more experienced installers use stitch screws in any of the above scenarios?

A phone call to the supplier would probably get you the direct answer that you want here. Whether installer A, B, or C does it one way or another, you ALWAYS want to use the manufacturer's guidelines to preserve any warranty enforcement.
