We are just at the end of a new metal roof installation on a church roof. Contractor installed Cobra brand ridge vent. Contract also itemizes installation of gooseneck vents, but no evidence of any gooseneck vents at finish. Have sent contractor question asking about status of gooseneck installation, but, upon researching while we wait for info from contractor, discovered that perhaps, with proper air intake from existing soffits, adding gooseneck vents is ill-advised. Have found your website to be invaluable for info throughout this process, so am reaching out because we don't know what the right answer is.

A great source of ventilation information is available at www.airvent.com Generally speaking, for most applications, the combination of soffit vents as intake and ridge vent as exhaust is ideal and adding anything else just disrupts the airflow.
