I have some questions regarding metal roofing. A contractor is hard selling me to use him. I feel he is over selling to the point of questioning myself. I do not know a lot about a standing seam metal roof. My questions are as follows, thank you for your time.
Is Dura-Loc distributed throughout the country for contractors to install? Is there mandatory installation underlayment required for Dura-Loc? Is there a huge difference between Dura-Loc and other manufacturers of metal roofing? Do contractor’s have to purchase the warranty on Dura-Loc or other manufacturers metal roofing? This contractor has quoted me near $60k for about 300 sq ft. After 2 hours, came down about $20k as ‘best offer’. I did get another bid which is around $27k from another contractor. 1st contractor is saying his product (Dura-Loc) is a superior product and the 2nd contractor’s is inferior because of grade 1 vs. grade 2 metal. Will I have issues with a grade 2 metal roof in 10, 15, 20 or longer, if installed properly?

There used to be a metal shingle manufactured years ago by that name in Canada. Other than that, I am unaware of a metal roofing product by that name. I really wouldn't feel qualified to answer your questions even if I did know the product. Have you tracked down and talked with the manufacturer?
