My contractor just said that the roofing on our new house is complete but I'm finding that I'm not happy with the workmanship. Most people in our area have metal roofs, and we have one on our current house, and none of them have this wavy flashing. My first thought was that the screws are too tight? To make matters worse, there is a light/dark pattern to the roof pattern (you can kind of see in the image) but all the panels are uniform in color- what is causing this?
Another concern is it doesn't look like the roof extends all the way to the edges of our front porch roof- do you think I should request longer panels? or does the drip edge take care of this? Our current house was built in the 1920s and everything has a huge overhang so I am not sure if this is just how new houses are built or my contractor isn't paying attention.

It would be difficult to work in another piece of roofing up the gable but the drip edge part needs to be done in a way to keep water out. I do not understand the light-dark effect you're getting. I would suggest consulting with the roofing manufacturer regarding that.
