I built a very simple work shop with a roof at 14' end to end with a 4/12 pitch. All us complete with underlayment and drip edge. My question is, I am applying R panels that are 36" wide. Too make it even on both ends I will either have a 6" over hang on both sides or I will have to rip both end panels to make it shorter. How much of an over hang do I do if I have 1' soffit all around for the gable sides and front and back? Any assistance is much appreciated. Jody

I would apply a gable edge trim on both ends of the metal roof panels, which will cover the ends. The panels then can be cut to the width you need.
