Many sided room

We are having a house built in SW Virginia that has what we call a round room (it has 7 sides with windows and 2 doors). They started the snap lock metal roof two weeks ago (worked Sat & Sun then stopped). I assumed that the panels would have come tapered so that they could snap together but they came rectangular and where hand cut). I'm concerned that there's a big gap between the cut panels that will be covered with hip cap and I don't know if they have any idea how to connect 8 hip caps at the ridge cap so that it's weather tight and looks good. The synthetic roof membrane was way past it's useful like and leaking but was not replaced. Should I be concerned or am I getting worried for nothing.
